University of Sheffield, UK

The Institute of Work Psychology (IWP) is a principal research centre within the University’s prestigious School of Management.  It has a secure financial base and a strong local, national and international reputation. The Institute has a flourishing PhD programme and runs a very successful MSc course in Occupational Psychology.

We are looking for talented and highly motivated researchers who will build on our success and help take IWP into the future.

(i) Full Professor, Senior Lecturer and/or Lecturer Positions

At least two posts are available, one Chair and one Senior Lecturer, and we may also alternatively make appointments at Lecturer level. The posts will be advertised in mid July in the Times Higher and online academic sites, with a closing date in the second half of August.  Starting dates will be arranged after discussion.

(ii) Three PhD Places

Three fees-paid three-year PhD places, with partial funding of stipend are also available. We encourage applications from outstanding candidates in any area of work psychology, but specific projects include: Workplace interventions to reduce the psychological health impact of bullying; Development and evaluation of new techniques for medical selection and assessment; Perspective taking in virtual teams; Enhancing creativity and innovation; and The effectiveness of individual, group and organisational learning.
