The Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in Belgium has an open PhD position (4 years) for a research project on the topic of burnout.

About the role:

A network approach will be used to study burnout dynamics. This position offers the unique opportunity to develop expertise in advanced quantitative methods (e.g., using psychometric network models), while communicating findings to both academic and practitioner audiences.

The VUB would love to hear from you if:

  • You hold a Master’s degree in Psychology (Work & Organisational, Clinical, or Experimental Psychology preferred; Research Master’s degrees are highly valued).
  • Have a strong interest in conducting academic research.
  • Are eager to reconceptualize burnout with network approaches, thus advancing our understanding of what burnout is (not), how it develops over time, and who is more likely to develop or recover from burnout.
  • Are enthusiastic about learning and applying research skills and advanced quantitative research methods, as well as adopting open science practices.
  • Look forward to sharing your research with diverse audiences, including academic peers and practitioners.

Why VUB?

Start date:

The VUB is looking for a strong candidate who can start from the 1st March 2025 onwards (this can be discussed).
