The European Academy of Occupational Health Psychology is pleased to announce that we have joined the European Federation of Psychologists’ Association (EFPA) as an associate member.

EFPA is the umbrella organization in Europe for national psychologists’ associations and currently comprises associations from 37 European countries representing some 350,000 psychologists, including all 27 member countries of the European Union. Founded in 1981 EFPA has a long tradition of developing psychology (by enhancing scientific and professional standards), contributing to society (by using psychological knowledge and competences in support in particular of the UN sustainable development goals) and serving psychologists (by advancing, promoting and protecting the profession of psychologists at the national and European levels).

The Academy’s application was reviewed by the EFPA Council before being unanimously approved by the EFPA General Assembly during their meeting on July 7 and 8 in Brighton, United Kingdom. EAOHP President Professor Stavroula Leka was present to sign this agreement. EFPA was represented by EFPA President Professor Christoph Steinebach.

As an Associate Member the Academy will be able to share information and collaborate with EFPA, to provide expertise on issues within their domain, and to engage in joint lobby activities. The Academy will also be entitled to support by EFPA and the use of EFPA services at the discretion of the Federation. Watch this space for opportunities and events to come.
